To the upper left is "Kreml" (Kremlin), meaning fortress in Russian, a common feature in larger cities of that country. The university, where Klaus discovered ruthenium in 1844, was at the same site as today ("42" marked on map). However, at that time the name of the street was then Voskressenskaya. This is identified on the map "Wosskressensk." (German spelling). After the Revolution of 1917 the street's name was changed to Chernyshevskaya, then Lenina, then finally to Kremlevskaya.
